iShares Cup at Kiel, Germany
The fourth round of the 2009 iShares Cup circuit is set to arrive in Kiel, Germany, in two week’s time, with racing from August 28-30, and the Baltic city is sure to give the Extreme 40 fleet another superb welcome.
Kiel, on the northern coast of Germany, is known as ‘Sailing City’ because of its enthusiasm for the sport. The Baltic Coast venue has twice hosted the sailing competition for the Olympic Games, as well as welcoming the Volvo Ocean Race fleet for stopovers, and holds a major annual regatta which is the largest summer festival in Europe.
The first ISAF Sailing World Cup began at the end of 2008 bringing a new annual series of sailing to the international sports calendar. The World Cup is open to the sailing events chosen for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Sailing Competitions. Find out about the World Cup on this page...
