Shota Yumoto of Nihon Bunri High School rips a hit to the right on March 23 during the first game of the 83rd National High School Baseball Invitational Tournament being held at Hanshin Koshien Stadium. The Mainichi Newspapers is a cosponsor of the 12-day tournament, the slogan of which is "Ganbaro Nippon" (Try Hard, Japan!). Part of ticket sales are going as donations to areas devastated by the recent earthquake and tsunami, and donations are being collected in the stadium. (Mainichi)
